About us
EMC Traction S.r.L. begins its activity after IMPulse
Nc. Inc. Inc. acquisition of “EMC operating Unit” from Ansaldo.
EMC Traction S.r.L experience begins in the 1930’s as CGE (General
Company of Electricity leader in Italy in the electric traction field) with the
production of the first DC Circuit breakers for Italian railways, based on General
Electric USA licence agreement.
In the 60’s the activity moved to ASGEN and later to ANSALDO till October
2000, year of the acquisition by IMPulse Nc. Inc., a U.S. company located in
North Carolina, leader in North American market in the design and production
of keyturn electrical substation.
EMC Traction S.r.L. and IMPulse Nc. Inc. are menbers of the Marmon Group of Companies,
an international association of manufacturing autonomous and services companies.
The annual turnover is about 9 million euro where 45% is sold abroad.
The annual production is about 800 Circuit breakers and 150 Diaclad Cubicles.
All the 55 workers are located in the productive plant in Vimodrone.
In local market main EMC Traction S.r.L. customers are the most important local
transportation such as ATM Milan, AEM Turin, ATAC Rome, ATAM Naples and railways
companies
such as RFI,
Trenitalia and Le Nord.
